KDP publishing checklist

Work through this in order and an upload day stops being a day of rejections. Flumyngo generates or checks every item below.

1. Manuscript

• Final chapter order, titles and consistent headings.
• No gap markers or internal notes left in the text.
• Quality pass done: pacing, repetition, filler, point of view, continuity.

2. Front and back matter

• Title page, copyright and edition notice, dedication.
• Bibliography or source notes for nonfiction, figure list where relevant.
• About the author, also-by list, and a call to review.

3. Print interior

• Trim size chosen and applied throughout.
• Bleed on any full-page image; margins and gutter appropriate to page count.
• Figures numbered with captions and credits.

4. Cover wrap

• Spine width from final page count and paper stock; spine text only above the minimum page count.
• Back cover blurb, pull quote, author bio and barcode clear zone.
• Bleed on all outside edges.

5. Ebook

• Validated EPUB: single title page, correct spine order, cover entry present.
• Working table of contents and internal links.

6. Listing

• Description formatted and inside the length limit.
• Seven keyword phrases, two categories, BISAC codes, age and grade range where relevant.
• Series name and number, contributors, language, publication date.
• Pricing per marketplace and royalty plan chosen.

7. Before you hit publish

• Order or download a proof and read the first and last page of every chapter.
• Check the cover at thumbnail size — the title must survive being tiny.
• Have your launch emails, social posts and quote graphics ready.
